Prof. Chris Elliott from Queen’s University Belfast
Director of the Institute for Global Food Safety and coordinator of two Island of Ireland research networks (biotoxins and chemicals)
His research is related to immunochemical based screening technologies and includes a wide range of toxic chemicals in foods and agricultural commodities such as mycotoxins, phycotoxins and plant toxins.
He published more than 300 papers in the field of detection and control of chemical contaminants in agri-food commodities. Professor Elliott is also one of the co-founding members of the International Drug Residue School (SARAF) in France. From humble beginnings this initiative has flourished to become a recognized training center for scientists all over the world.
